Rugby School signs with SOCS TV, Powered to Joymo, to launch “Rugby School TV” in Q2 2026
Rugby School, one of the country’s leading co-educational boarding schools, has partnered with SOCS TV, powered by Joymo, to launch Rugby School TV, a secure, school-branded streaming and video platform that will bring fixtures, performances, talks and seminars to parents, families, alumni and the wider Rugby School community, wherever they are in the world.
Launching in Q2 2026, Rugby School TV will enable the School to livestream and publish on-demand content with safeguarding, consent and school control at the core. SOCS TV is built specifically for schools, giving Rugby School full ownership of its content and data, alongside governance and privacy tools to support compliance.
“Sport at Rugby is for everyone,” Rugby School notes in its co-curricular programme, underlining an inclusive sporting culture with broad participation and a vibrant calendar of school life. With over 40 sporting fixtures per week the School’s commitment to developing the whole person is reflected in a rich programme that brings more moments that matter to the global family of Rugbeians.
Rugby School TV will extend that connection beyond the sports fields, with a focus on streaming key cultural events in one place for parents. From House Singing, to Coffee Concerts, Concerto Concerts to Scholars’ Plays, Rugby School TV will knit the vibrant co-curricular programme together helping parents stay close to key moments while ensuring appropriate safeguarding controls are in place.
Gareth Parker-Jones, Head Master, Rugby School, said:
“I am delighted that the launch of Rugby School TV will allow members of the wider Rugbeian community, particularly those who cannot regularly be in Rugby, to share in the rich academic, cultural and sporting life of the School. This is particularly valuable for parents who live some distance away. This platform will bring them closer to the Rugby experience, enabling them to witness and enjoy the many activities their children take part in.”
Lee Shepherd, Deputy Head Co-Curricular, said:
“At Rugby School, we have streamed a significant number of school-wide events over many years, but our partnership with SOCS TV will bring all of our content together on a single platform, significantly improving the parental experience. We are incredibly proud of what we offer our students, and as a full boarding school we want to share more of these moments with our wider parent community.”
Built for school life: control, safeguarding and quality
SOCS TV, powered by Joymo, is designed to help schools securely capture and share content—from major fixtures and productions to everyday milestones—without defaulting to open consumer platforms. Key platform benefits include:
- Secure access and safeguarding-first streaming (including consent-aware workflows and governance tools)
- School control over content, permissions and retention
- Live and on-demand publishing on a dedicated, school-branded platform
- Data protection by design and tools aligned to GDPR and KCSIE 2024 expectations
James Kershaw Naylor, Director, Commercial & Product, SOCS, said: “SOCS TV puts schools fully in control—so they can share what matters most, safely, with the right safeguards in place.”
Marius Larsen, COO/CFO of Joymo, said:
“Rugby School is setting a clear standard for how schools can share sport and wider school life in a way that strengthens community without compromising safeguarding. Through SOCS TV, powered by Joymo, Rugby School will have a secure, school-controlled digital home for live and on-demand content—so parents, families and alumni can feel close to the moments that matter, wherever they are.
