To date, fans have enjoyed over 300 Super League and Division 1 games and over 200 000 cumulative plays recorded.
In January, the “Cup Final Fever” was a notable success. This Cup featured the likes of the InsureMyHouse.ie Paudie O’ Connor Cup, the InsureMyHouse.ie Pat Duffy Cup, the InsureMyHouse.ie Presidents’ Cup, the InsureMyHouse.ie Women’s National Cup.
The excitement was further fueled by the inclusion of the Pinergy All-Ireland Schools Cup Final. This youth content was a remarkable addition to the existing calendar of events on basketballireland.tv. The cup, which took place from 17 to 19 January saw an unprecedented uptake of nearly 2000 hours of youth content consumed over the 3 day showdown.
The event saw 10 games from the U16 to U19 age groups respectively, going head-to-head in the National Basketball Arena.
Commenting on the success of the schools content Joymo Partnership Development Manager Torill Lunde said, “It is very exciting to see that the Irish basketball fans have an appetite for youth basketball. The viewership numbers and engagement show that showcasing this content is a drawcard for another sector of fans, and we are really looking at ways to further grow the grassroots offering in the years to come.”
The addition of this youth content is a testament to Joymo’s ability to help sports organisations unlock the true potential and financial value of their grassroots content in addition to their top tier sports offerings.
More and more sport organisations are seeing the benefits of being able to stream their content, own their data and create a new source of income to make them more sustainable.
